Short introduction to the DBBW

The federal documentation and advice centre on the subject of wolves was created at the request of the environment ministers of the federal states as part of a three-year F+E project of the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation. The background is the dynamic development of the wolf population. This makes it increasingly necessary to have nationwide data on the area of occurrence and population development available on a regular basis and to offer advice to the nature conservation authorities on special questions such as how to deal with conspicuous wolves. An essential task of the project is the development and maintenance of this website. The project team started work in February 2016 and the project wil run at least until 2025.

Within the framework of the DBBW, no project funds are earmarked for further public consultation beyond the information provided on this website. Therefore, inquiries regarding the content of the DBBW site can neither be answered by phone nor by e-mail. We ask for your understanding.
Journalists whose inquiries go beyond the content of this page should contact the press office of the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation.
